Buying grapes from individual growers, he was set on blending exquisite wines that showcased quality and secured unique alliances allits components. His efforts resulted in multiple royal warrants from royal and imperial families during his tenure. \r\n\r\nWhile the House produces vintage prestige cuvée such as its Blanc de Millenaires, vintage Brut and vintage Rosé, the ultimate Charles Heidieck remains its velvety, voluptuous Brut Réserve. Using as many as 60 crus and 40% of reserve wines, the House ensures finesse, generosity and power in every bottle. \r\n\r\nCharles Heidsieck Champagne is as distinctive as the man behind them. Unfurling in the glass with aromas of green apple, pear, brioche and fresh pastry that are framed by a lovely smoky, autolytic top note, the wine is full-bodied, ample and concentrated, with ripe acids, superb depth at the core and a textural, vinous quality while remaining very classical in profile. The finish is long and expansive. A blend of Chardonnay from Cramant, Avize, Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Vertus, it saw nine grams per liter dosage. This is a terrific blanc de blancs from Charles Heidsieck that has a long and glorious future ahead of it.
