When you think Henriot, you think independence. The Henriot family has overseen the Champagne House since its inception, with Apolline Henriot, the founder’s widow, formally establishing the House in 1808. Apolline secured the House’s reputation for innovation and quality as well as maintaining the family’s influence for no less than eight generations.Apolline began making her Champagne Henriot at her father’s Bouzy vineyards, marketing it under the name Veuve Henriot Ainé. Henriot produces beautiful vintage and non-vintage wines, with its strength being its treatment of Chardonnay. This flourished even further after the marriage of Paul Henriotto Marie Marquet in 1880. Marie brought her considerable dowry to the family, which included outstanding Chardonnay plots on the Côte de Blancs. Refining the use of the grape, Henriot has developed a profile that elicits citrus and peach notes, followed by a hint of lemon. As such, the style of Henriot has remained spectacularly fresh and sophisticated. The Henriot portfolio includes the non-vintage Brut Souverain, Brut Rosé and Blanc de Blancs as well as vintage Cuveé Hemera, named for the Goddess of Light. Featuring a blend of more than six iconic Grand Crus, it is the pinnacle of Henriot’s exceptional style.
