Based in the Epernay region, Perrier-Jouët is yet another case of romance and Champagne coming together. Founded in 1811, the House was the second union between wine cork supplier Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and his wife, Rose AdélaideJouët, the daughter of a Calvados merchant. Perrier’s family owned vineyards in Chouilly, Aÿ and Dizy, so the young couple decided to develop a Champagne producing house that they could launch and expand. Adélaide’s background gave her an edge on the winemaking side, with Pierre-Nicolas handling the marketing, The synergy worked; the couple began shipping their bottles to the UK as son as 1815, with exports to the United States following as soon as 1837. Perrier-Jouët produces both vintage and non-vintage cuvee, reaching up to 3 million bottles per annum. Belle Epoque, its prestige label, is vibrant and full-bodied, while Belle Epoque Rosé delivers delicacy and finesse. Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs, with its exclusive Chardonnay composition, is a stand out mix of earthiness and fruity exuberance. All carried in Perrier-Jouët’s trademarked floral bottles, the visual beauty and gentility of the brand only adds to the House’s penchant for romance.
