Grand Cru vineyard Le Musigny rests in the very heart of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits in the parish of Chambolle-Musigny. For centuries, it has been very much an influential presence in the area originally known as Chambolle, and was finally acknowledged by the village for its local impact by having its name formally appended.
Along with Corton, Le Musigny is one of only two grand cru vineyards that caters to both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The steep, 25-acre expanse of limestone-dominant terroir enjoys exceptional drainage, and fosters an environment for strong, deep vines that produce plump, intense Pinot Noir grapes. The result is one of unrivaled richness, elegance, minerality and assertion, with red Le Musigny commanding some of the highest prices on the market. Le Musigny Blanc is equally respected. Its continuity in performance and quality may be due to the fact that it is made by only one producer, Domaine de la Comte Georges de Vogüé. The domaine also owns more than 50% of the Musigny vineyard.
